Dark greens and reds are good to choices to make a room which is too large feel smaller and more intimate. These shades are favorites for bedrooms and large living rooms. Changing the paint color uses an optical illusion to alter your perception of the room. This is a much cheaper and easier option than tearing down or putting up a wall as you would if remodeling.
